I woke up super early this morning (5 am) with the hope of catching the first light on one of the bridges in Cincinnati. Things didn’t really go as planned however…It was very cloudy and there wasn’t much sun making it through. This is one of the frustrating things about landscape photography, sometimes you can’t predict nature and sometimes you just get unlucky. I made the best of it though and came out with a couple good images. I walked over 2.5 miles all around from Newport across the purple people bridge into Cincinnati and all the way down to the Roebling.
This one is of Great American Ball Park the Cincinnati Reds stadium, the sun finally poked through just a bit for about a minute and I was able to capture this.

That was the end of the color in the sky so I basically gave up and started walking back to my car. I decided to go across the Taylor Bridge and I really liked the look with the smooth river and set up my tripod. Then the kayak appeared and just made the shot.

I think the morning turned out pretty good considering all the clouds. Not what I went out for but happy with the results.
